The 9 Best Places In Georgia To Go On An Unforgettable Picnic
There’s nothing much more enjoyable than a picnic on a nice summer day. Georgia is home to so many beautiful parks that the choices are endless! If you’re looking to get out and have a nice Sunday picnic, check out this list of the 9 best places to go on a picnic in Georgia.
1) Alexander Park- Lawrenceville, GA
This is a very popular park in Lawrenceville. It features a flying disc golf course, fishing, a horseshoe pit and a playground! This is the perfect spot for a family picnic.
2) Forsyth Park- Savannah, GA
This large historic park covers 30 acres of land in Savannah. This park is known for its iconic fountain found here. It's a wonderful place to just sit and watch the day go by.

3) Gibbs Garden- Ball Ground, GA
There cannot be enough said about the beauty of Gibbs Gardens. This sprawling landscape of botany is set on the estate of James Gibbs. Gibbs is the owner of a landscaping company that's won more than 250 awards for their great work. With that being said, there's no surprise that Gibbs Garden is world class!

4) Sweetheart Circle at Georgia Southern University
Georgia Southern University is set on a beautiful campus in Statesboro, Georgia. A university tradition, Sweetheart Circle is a space on the campus with large Oak and Pecan trees. It has seen countless marriage proposals and weddings. It would make for a perfect picnic!
5) Piedmont Park- Atlanta, GA
This huge park is a favorite for city dwellers. It stretches for 185 acres, and features so many amenities. There is a large field for playing sports, a club house, long trails, and of course--pavilions for picnics!

6) Founders Garden UGA North Campus- Athens, GA
Welcome to the secret garden! This beautiful garden was founded in 1946, and still serves as a historic museum of botany as well as a place for botany innovations and learning. It is located on the UGA campus.
This hidden gem was founded by the Garden Club of Georgia as a memorial to the 12 founders of the Ladies' Garden Club of Athens--the first garden club in America.
7) Magnolia Springs State Park- Millen, GA
This 1000+ acre park has plenty of space for anyone to come and have a picnic! After your picnic, walk the boardwalk and watch the alligators, turtles and other wildlife.

8) Dodge County Public Fishing Area- Dodge County, GA

9) Watson Mill Bridge State Park- Comer, GA
This park is a photographer's favorite for a reason--it's gorgeous! This 1000+ acre park contains the longest covered bridge in the state of Georgia. Go on a picnic or stay overnight on the camping grounds.
