There are lots of famous foods in Georgia: boiled peanuts, fried chicken, shrimp and grits, pimento cheese, and plenty more, but only one dish has such a strong association that it’s in our official state nickname and state logo. We’re talking about the mighty peach, of course. Georgia is one of the top peach-producing states in the country, and if you ask us, these juicy fruits simply taste better when grown in Georgia. The peach is a highly-celebrated food here, so it should come as no surprise that we have our very own peach festival in Georgia. This summer event takes place over two weekends in June and is shared by the cities of Byron and Fort Valley. Fort Valley’s already had their 2023 event, over the weekend of June 3, but you can still catch the Byron festivities on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Check it out:
