Not Many People Realize There’s An Incredible Hidden Palace In Georgia
What if we told you that you didn’t have to leave the state of Georgia to find a beautiful, hand-crafted temple that rivals even the Taj Mahal? Don’t scoff – right outside of Atlanta, there’s an incredible palace in Georgia and it’s hiding in plain sight!
One of the most unique buildings in Georgia is the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Lilburn. Amazingly, it's only about 20 miles from Atlanta!
The temple is lovingly crafted from 36,000 pieces of stone, mostly limestone, sandstone, and Italian marble. It's easy to see why people come from all over to marvel at this architectural wonder!
Entering the temple is an experience on its own, as you'll be able to see the bright, often colorful sculptures. Witness the silence and stillness of this gargantuan palace.
There are so many beautiful buildings around, but we feel like this is the most gorgeous of all temples in Georgia. To view hours and book a visit, check out the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir website.

Georgia is actually home to quite a few castles! We’ve even got a whole road trip of them planned out for you. One that is particularly beloved by Georgians is the Dwarf Castle in Alpharetta. You can even stay at an AirBNB castle in Cartersville!
Georgia has many beautiful temples that allow visitors. The Hindu Temple of Atlanta is an incredible destination. Another beautiful one is the Shiv Mandar in Sugar Hill, just outside of Atlanta.
