Here Are The 6 Most Beautiful Indoor Gardens You’ll Ever See In Georgia
With winter slowly approaching, the temperatures are going to start taking a dip, which means that many Georgians will leave their outdoor exploration until springtime. However, what if we told you there is a way to enjoy all that Georgia nature has to offer, without being immersed in the cold? Luckily for us, Georgia has quite a few indoor gardens worth exploring, and some of these photos may just blow you away.
1. Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center - 17800 US Highway 27, Pine Mountain, GA 31822-2831
Most visitors head to Callaway Gardens for the mesmerizing display of seasonal flowers. However, there is an indoor garden that is home to thousands of butterflies just waiting to be admired. As North America's largest glass-enclosed tropical conservatory, you'll be hard-pressed to find an indoor garden more enchanting than this one.
2. Fuqua Orchid Center - 1345 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30309-3366
While a majority of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens is set outside, there is a beautiful indoor conservatory called the Fuqua Orchid Center which will blow your mind. Filled with spectacular colors and rare orchids hanging throughout, this is worth a visit to the Botanical Garden alone.
3. Lockerly Arboretum - 1534 Irwinton Rd Milledgeville, Georgia
At over 50-acres of space, the Lockerly Arboretum is not only an educational venue but also a wonderful place to view different plant species from all over. While you’re there, make sure to tour the beautiful Rose Hill, built in 1852, with architecture like you’ve never seen before.
4. Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens - 2 Canebrake Rd, Savannah, GA 31419-9298
Another stunning garden in terms of marvelous orchids, the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens in Savannah is a real dreamscape. Exploring the gardens, especially the older buildings dating back decades, will surely delight, but it's the indoor orchard garden that will bring about a worthwhile experience.
5. Chattahoochee Nature Center - 9135 Willeo Rd, Roswell, GA 30075-4723
The Chattahoochee Nature Center’s Discovery Center contains native and non-native plants alike, designed to attract butterflies so that they can lay their eggs and continue growing for the butterfly exhibit. Trained naturalists give tours for guests 7 days a week, which makes this a perfect afternoon activity for the family.
6. The Horticulure Greenhouses of UGA - Athens, GA 30602
Probably one of the most comprehensive landscapes of plant species in Geogria, the Greenhouses at UGA include over 24,000-square-feet of space, and over seven greenhouses in total. The different greenhouses contain a variety of plants, from the Rainforest Biome to the Desert Biome, and even the Special Collections greenhouse.
