If you ask us, brunch is the most important meal of the day. It’s late enough that you’ve had time to get up and get your day started, but you still have most of the day ahead of you, so there’s plenty of time to get chores and errands done. Some like the “br,” others prefer the heftier “unch” portions, but whatever you like, Mama’s Boy in Athens has got it. This breakfast/lunch/brunch restaurant in Georgia serves up the tastiest morning dishes around. It’s a popular spot with locals, college students, and tourists alike, and with good reason: it’s got some of the best brunch you’ve ever had.

The original Mama's Boy location is just past the University of Georgia campus. Though it has the feel of an old-school diner, it actually opened up less than 20 years ago.

There are several areas to dine here. There's a small dining room inside, plus a cute back porch area. Many people opt to dine outside.

Mama's Boy is only open for breakfast and lunch. Both are served all day.

Tuesday's pancake day, and there's usually something incredible on the menu each week.

The daily menu features a variety of options, from tasty Southern biscuits piled high with eggs, bacon, cheese, to healthier fare like granola.

There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.

Parking can be slim at Mama’s Boy’s main location, but there is free street parking in the neighborhood behind the restaurant, and it’s just a short walk to the restaurant.
