The Northeast Georgia region has so many beautiful mountains that make for incredible hikes. One of our favorites is Blood Mountain, which is the highest peak along Georgia’s portion of the Appalachian Trail. This hike is no joke: it’s definitely not for beginners. However, all the miles and elevation distance will be worth it when you reach the top of the mountain. The vantage point from Blood Mountain is absolutely incredible. It’s one of the most gorgeous lookout points in Georgia. When you look out at the landscape around the mountain, you’ll be struck by the beauty of the Peach State, no matter what time of year it is.
