The Magical Georgia Christmas Tree That Comes Alive With A Million Colorful Lights

While some northerners have Rockefeller Center, here in Georgia we have something a bit different when it comes to holiday tree lighting ceremonies. Christmas trees are lit from the southern tip of the state to the tippy top throughout the month of November, but this ceremony might just be the best of all. Mark your calendars, because in just a few short days the biggest and best tree lighting ceremony in Georgia is here.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

The Lighting of Avalon takes place on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is free to attend and tickets do not need to be purchased. Just show up and enjoy! To find out more information about the tree lighting ceremony, as well as the schedule of events for the day, visit the website and Facebook Page.
