What could be better than hiking through Georgia nature and finding a mysteriously magnificent archaeological treasure? Answer: Not Much. Which is why this particular trail is unlike any other in the state. Sure, we’ve talked about the unique history behind the great state of Georgia before: 10 Things You Didn’t Know About The History Of Georgia, but this particular slice of archaeological wonderment is something that predates most of what we all know.
The hidden trail of Track Rock Gap petroglyphs in Georgia is nothing short of pure magic.
The petroglyphs are said to date back at least 3,600 years, as the result of Native Americans removing large chunks of soapstone in order to make bowls.
However, there are other figures carved within the last 1,000 years that are said to have been made by Native Americans through reoccurring visits to the area.
