2. Bellwood Quarry, Atlanta
Bellwood Quarry is a bit of unexpected beauty in the middle of Atlanta. This 400-foot hole in the ground has turned into one of the prettiest hidden gems of the state. Sit on top of the quarry for a view of the glistening, turquoise water below.

Georgia's largest natural spring is preserved right here in Radium Springs Gardens. Spend the afternoon watching the still, turquoise waters, relaxing under the Georgia sun.
6. Cumberland Island, Georgia
Cumberland Island is Georgia's largest barrier island, not to mention one of the most enjoyable natural habitats in the world. If you're lucky enough to watch the wild horses roam free, then you will surely be at complete peace during your trip.

It's no surprise that waterfalls bring true peace and quiet to one's soul. Which is why Amicalola Falls is so darn popular. As the tallest cascading falls in the Southeast, find your center while sitting near this magical waterfall.

Over 9,000 acres of natural beauty at your disposal, that's the beauty of FDR State Park. Not only is it Georgia's largest state park, but it is a hiker's heaven, with miles of trails to completely lose yourself and find yourself at the same time.
10. Lullwater Park, Atlanta
Miles upon miles of hidden trails and pathways, Lullwater Park is a natural oasis hidden on the campus of Emory University. Most people aren't aware of this state gem, but once they spend time here, they always return for more.
