Here Are The 10 Best Cities In Georgia To Raise A Family
Lately, Georgia has seen a large influx of younger people. Whether it’s to attend one of our many wonderful schools, experience our southern charm or Atlanta’s allure as an up-and-coming tech hub, many of these migrants are looking to begin their lives right here in Georgia!
No matter if you’ve lived in Georgia your whole life or you’ve recently moved here, you’re going to want to know which cities are the best places to raise children.
Rincon was also at the top of my "Happiest Cities in Georgia" list, so it's no surprise that it also tops the list as the best place to raise a family. Its population is made up of about 38% of families and the median income is 71K.
Cusseta is a city located in Chattahoochee County, and has the lowest home prices on this list. This city is very family friendly, with programs geared towards educational readiness. child meal services and tuition grants.
Evans is an affluent suburb of Augusta, GA. The median family income in this city is pretty high at more than 97K. The Columbia County School System has received multiple accolades and is known to be one of the better school systems in Georgia.
This old farming and railroad town is a pleasant neighborhood 30 miles north of Atlanta. It is part of the Cherokee County School System, which is also ranked highly among the school systems in Georgia. Additionally, 40% of the nearly 10K income earning residents are families.
Richmond Hill is a small and beautiful coastal city near Savannah. The median price of a home is high at 172K, but that is offset by the high median income. This city also hosts several festivals and events throughout the year.
Jefferson is a city in Jackson County about an hour south of Atlanta. The city's family population is about 30% of its total population, and the city's school system ranks a 9 out of 10 by GreatSchools.
Buford's school system also ranks a 9 out of 10 by GreatSchools. Buford is located in both Gwinnett and Hall Counties. Generally, homes here are worth higher than the median for the state.
Kingsland is located in Camden County and has grown substantially due to a challenge by television star Oprah Winfrey. Kingsland was featured on "Lovetown, USA," a reality show that challenges towns to become more loving in a month. In response, Kingsland built five new schools, which received a score of 8 from GreatSchools.
Flowery Branch is as beautiful as it sounds. It's a small city located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There's a lot of new development here, because this city is part of the Georgia Main Street/Better Hometown Program, which helps rebuild business districts. Home values here are pretty high, with the median price being 191K. This city is also famous for being the training site of the Atlanta Falcons.
Woodstock is a wonderful and vibrant community in Cherokee County. Kids here attend the same great school district as the students in Holly Springs. In addition to their high median income and high property values, Woodstock is filled with opportunities for outdoor activities. This is where you can find the large Lake Allatoona, several parks and multiple mountain trails. The city is also now in the process of developing a 60-mile long network of multi-use trails and green space.
