The modern world can be exhausting. Being connected to everyone and having all the world’s knowledge in our pockets is convenient, but it can also be really tiring and stressful. Sometimes, you just need the serenity that only a peaceful day out in nature can bring. One great way to do that is by hiking a remote trail in Georgia. We’ve got plenty of trails that will bring you tons of natural beauty and seclusion. One of our favorites is the Glassy Mountain Fire Tower hike in Rabun County.

Glassy Mountain is in the Chattahoochee National Forest, not far from the state border with Tennessee. The peak is over 3,400 feet above sea level.

The trail is actually a two-mile gravel path that winds up to the top of the mountain just past the gate.

It can be a bit steep going up, but since there are not rock scrambles or branches, it's suitable for kids.

The good part about the elevation is that going downhill on the way back is a breeze!
In the springtime, you'll find tons of wildflowers along the trail's edges.
