The Most Affordable Georgia Road Trip Takes You To 5 Sites For Under $100
It can sometimes feel like many attractions are too expensive to enjoy. Times are tough, and it can be hard to save up hundreds or thousands of dollars to go on a great vacation. The Augusta Riverwalk is one of the prettiest waterside walks in Georgia. The total length of the trail is about 3.4 miles, and there's plenty to explore along the way, from shops to a playground and more.

While you're in the area, make time to visit the Augusta Canal Discovery Center. If you opt for a canal tour, museum admission is included. This is a great way to learn about the history of Georgia's Garden City. Ticket prices vary throughout the year, but typically run under $20 a person.

By this point, you're probably getting pretty hungry, so stop for a bite to eat at the charming Peggy's Restaurant in Wrens.

Your next stop is Andalusia. This the beautiful Milledgeville farm was home to Flannery O'Connor, one of the most famous short story writers from the South. O'Connor was born in Savannah, but stayed at Andalusia for the last 14 years of her life. She wrote many of her most famous works at Andalusia. Tours of this beautiful property are under $10 a person.

Your final stop on this affordable road trip in Georgia is the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historic Park. Admission to this educational site is free, and there are some fascinating exhibits here about the area's earliest residents.
