6 Easy-Access Georgia Waterfalls That Are Perfect For A Summer Adventure
There is still plenty of time, Georgians, to get out there and explore some waterfalls this summer. While the weather is good, visiting the various waterfalls throughout the state can be the ultimate adventure, especially when there is a swimming hole below. But don’t worry about having to hike miles upon miles to get to these beloved falls. These 6 easy-access waterfalls in Georgia are a simple trek through nature with superior rewards.

Anna Ruby Falls is one of the quickest hikes to get to, from the parking lot to the very bottom of the waterfall. At only 0.4-miles in length, you’ll take the paved footpath and in about 30 minutes time you’ll be right in front of the roaring falls. There are plenty of benches along the way too, if you want to stop and take it all in.

You don’t need to hike like crazy to get to this giant waterfall near Tallulah Falls. Just a 0.4-mile out-and-back trail is all that stands in the way between you and Minnehaha Falls. Good for all skill levels, plus your fur friends, enjoy this waterfall when it’s at its very best, usually between February and November!

Amicalola Falls is perhaps the most popular waterfall in Georgia, especially since it is the highest in the state. People flock from all over to get a glimpse of this 729-foot waterfall. There are a few different ways to get to these falls, but perhaps the simplest is just to hike from the bottom of the park up 604 steps to the viewing platform. It’s only 0.3 miles but the extent of it is the stair climb.

At around 0.3 miles, this easy-access trail in Vogel State Park is good for all skill levels. The best part about the trail to Helton Creek Falls is that it isn’t just one waterfall you’ll see but two, and a swimming hole! While the trail is short, it may be a little bit steep at times, so make sure to be ready to climb.

Perhaps the longest trek to a waterfall to make this list, High Shoals Falls is certainly worth the 2.3-mile trek to get there. This out-and-back trail is a great way to get in some exercise while also snagging a swim. Enjoy the vibrant forested landscape as you wander your way through North Georgia.

Falls Branch Falls is a short and sweet hike in Cherry Log, Georgia that clocks in at less than a mile. Relatively easy to hike, there are a few steps to ascend and descend with minimal elevation changes. This is a great short hike for a family with kids with a beautiful waterfall finish.
