Visiting Santa has got to be one of the longest-running Christmas traditions. And while the classic holiday activity is great all on its own, we found a place that kicks the festive fun up a notch – and it’s the Santa Pizza Train in Wisconsin. Just as the name implies, this annual Christmas train in Wisconsin combines the magic of visiting Santa with the thrill of a train ride and the tastiness of pizza. The Santa Pizza Train is one of the many train rides offered by the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad, which departs from Trego.
An annual tradition, the Santa Pizza Train runs on weekends from mid-November until the weekend before Christmas. The season starts on November 3 and runs until December 23.
A magical event right from the start, the train is covered in festive images. Kids (and kids at heart) will be delighted to see Santa and his reindeer roll into the train station.
After leaving the station, the Santa Pizza Train sets out on a 2-hour ride that’s full of beautiful scenery, festive fun, and pizza, of course.
Part of that festive fun is a visit with Santa in his private car – something that’s sure to create lifelong memories.
In addition to pizza, passengers are treated to soda, a holiday cookie, and hot chocolate.
