When was the last time you sank your teeth into a good old-fashioned diner-style burger? If you live anywhere near Sedro-Woolley in Skagit County, you don't even have to wait one more day. This old-fashioned 1950s style diner has a drive-thru... and the hardest part of the experience will be waiting to get home to devour your meal.
Hal's Drive In is located on State Street in Sedro-Woolley, where it has been for over 70 years.
And with that kind of staying power, it's safe to say they're doing something right here.
Hal's is a favorite stop Sedro-Woolley, Mount Vernon, Burlington, Anacortes, Concrete, and La Conner, not to mention thousands of tourists passing through.
And while ownership has changed a few times over the years, the ambiance (and most of the menu) has stayed the same.
The burger list is lengthy here, but that's far from the only thing you'll find on the menu.
They serve tasty sandwiches, hot dogs, salads, and dinner entrees like fish & chips and chicken strip baskets.
When this eatery first opened in 1949, ice cream was the only thing on the menu.
In 1964, Hal Carter bought the place and expanded it into a burger joint...
... and for that, we are grateful.
If you've ever had a burger here, you know how tasty they are.
If you're especially hungry, we highly recommend adding crinkle cut fries and a thick shake to your meal.
With close to 20 milkshake flavor options, you can order whatever you're craving.
The little dining room at Hal's Drive In is closed for the time being, but you'll always be met at the drive thru with a friendly smile.
And your hearty burger and delicious shake will taste just as good at home.
Hal's Drive In is currently open Monday - Saturday for lunch and dinner. Find out about any updates and specials on their Facebook page.
