When folks look for a creative take on the restaurant industry in Tennessee, they're most likely going to start in good ol' Music City. Nashville has managed to make a big splash in recent years with their newly minted coffee culture and unique eating experiences, but the Gray Canary in Memphis has managed to put the east side of the state on the map. The inventive eating experience and beautiful space are right at home in the historic city of Memphis, and locals have welcomed it with open arms.
The Gray Canary is located in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, located in an old warehouse building that owners Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman have emphasized through stunning interior design and attention to the building's historic detail.
Here, you can indulge in an incredible cocktail menu with a stunning view of the city, beneath gorgeous windows that stretch towards the ceiling. The building itself was once utilized as the Old Dominick Distillery and is located in the South Main Arts District in downtown Memphis.
Folks rave about the beauty of the space, but also the inventiveness of the menu. You'll find everything from grilled oysters to famed Parker House rolls, from lobster to an incredible TGC Burger, served up on a brioche bun.
The raw bar is expansive and beautifully supplied, with oysters from Washington to Maryland. Aptly priced, they're served with sauces such as a red wine black mignonette, horseradish, and cocktail sauce or a simple lemon.
The entrees are beautifully prepared and delivered to your table with understated fanfare. You come to the Gray Canary for a true experience, to fall in love with a wide expanse of flavors that hail from across the globe.
The dinner menu is lovely of course and the wine book large and beautifully curated, but the desserts available are also worth noting. The chocolate cake is adorned with a perfect cherry, perhaps you'd rather sink your spoon into a sundae? End your meal with a cup of coffee from the widely hailed Stumptown Coffee.
Come and enjoy dinner for yourself and fall in love with this place, with the indulgent meal you'll have the chance to enjoy. You can visit for yourself from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday for dinner, and from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for dinner on Friday and Saturday. Happy hours occur from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday.
