Imagine enjoying a plate of the freshest clams just steps from one of Rhode Island's favorite surf spots. Flo's Clam Shack in Middletown, Rhode Island has been offering locals and tourists alike the most delicious seafood on the waterfront since 1936. The diverse menu offers Flo's World Famous Clamcakes, crunchy fish and chips, plump oysters and more, all enjoyed while taking in panoramic ocean views and Atlantic breezes.
The original Flo's opened on the waterfront in 1936, serving up tender and juicy clams dusted in a light batter and fried to perfection.
After getting knocked down by hurricanes in 1938, 1954, 1960, 1985, and 1991, she has rebuilt every time and is still frying strong in two locations!
With over 40 million clamcakes served, there's no question Flo's is famous for clams.
But there's much more to the menu than that. Seafood Platters, oysters, fish sandwiches, and shrimp are all fan favorites. There's also Fresh Sea Scallops, Clam Strips, Stuffed Quahogs, and Baked Seafood Dinners, as well as non-seafood items like juicy hamburgers and gourmet hot dogs.
Along with the mouthwatering seafood comes a funky, eclectic atmosphere.
Flo's has a unique beach vibe and is packed with local paraphernalia, historic photographs, and treasures dredged from the sea.
Flo's Lobsta Rolls are to die for, with no skimping on fresh lobster and deliciousness.
Flo's No-Nonsense Lobsta Roll Platter is all lobster meat on a toasted bun with mayo on the side. It also comes with French Fries and homemade coleslaw.
