Summer means dining outdoors, the sun and the breeze combining to create the perfect ambiance. In the winter, however, we don't have that many opportunities to dine outdoors. Until now (well, sort of). Settle into your own private igloo, which is heated to keep you warm, for a delicious meal when you dine at this igloo bar in Pennsylvania.
Create magical winter memories with a meal at The State Street Grill, in Clarks Summit, which features dining in its outdoor igloos Monday through Thursday.
The heated igloos comfortably sit up to 10 guests. However, to reserve an igloo online, you must have a minimum of six guests in your party. If you want to reserve an igloo for fewer than six guests, you must call the restaurant.
All online reservations are made through Open Table. Look for the outdoor option when making your reservation. If you do not see an outdoor option, you'll know that particular time is already booked.
Arrive a few minutes early or on time for your meal in the igloo. If you're 15 minutes late, you risk losing your spot. All guests have two hours in the igloo, which offers plenty of time for your meal and dessert.
Once you've settled into your igloo, peek at the menu that's brimming with delicious dishes, beginning with an assortment of appetizers. Sweet potato hummus, Swedish meatballs, and house-made chips are among your choices.
Sometimes nothing hits the spot on a winter day like a piping hot bowl of soup — French onion or the carnivore or vegan soup of the day, for example.
Peruse the rest of the menu, which offers something for everyone — from grilled flatbreads and dinner salads to burgers and sandwiches.
You also have some hearty, scrumptious entrees from which to choose, including meatloaf, chicken casserole pot pie, and grilled hanger steak.
