Located near John Glenn International Airport, you'll find the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant. It's an aviation-themed restaurant that features delicious food, World War I & II memorabilia, and great views of planes taking flight and landing. Tucked away between the runways of the John Glenn International Airport, you'll find this unique restaurant, hiding from heavy city traffic.
It's located at 5030 Sawyer Rd., Columbus, OH, 43219.
The restaurant is housed in an old country 1917 French farmhouse. Both inside and out, it's a unique structure you'll want to explore.
The restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday, with hours varying by day. Dinner service happens during the week, and there are special brunch options on weekends.
Its history, charm and decor all work to together to make a cozy atmosphere for visitors.
With huge stone fireplaces, wood paneling, and beamed ceilings, the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant is homey yet romantic.
Be sure to take a look around while you're here. On the walls, you'll find military memorabilia and aviation relics from the historic WWI and WWII eras.
The restaurant itself is named after "a famous unit of early American air power," according to the website. Columbus native Eddie Rickenbacker was part of this unit and flew combat over France during World War I.
Today, the restaurant is dedicated to remembering war heroes just like Eddie Rickenbacker.
Outside, you'll even find a P-51 Mustang.
Inside, the restaurant features several windows with excellent views of the John Glenn International Airport runway.
You can watch planes arrive and depart as you dine.
On the menu, you'll find a variety of steak, chicken and seafood dinners, each creatively named in conjunction with the theme of the restaurant.
