If you’ve yet to truly explore the charming city of Ithaca, then you’re most likely not aware of the fact that in the heart of downtown you can find a historic two-block pedestrian mall that will sweep you off of your feet. Filled with adorable shops and delicious restaurants, this area of town is often the host of exciting events in Ithaca. Coming up in the month of September, Ithaca Commons will once again feature one of the area's best annual festivals and you surely can't miss out on it. Take a peek!
Taking over downtown, Ithaca's 37th Annual Apple Harvest Festival is right around the corner.
A three-day celebration happening on September 27th, 28th, and 29th, the Apple Harvest Festival is an event that New Yorkers have been enjoying for generations.
All throughout Ithaca Commons and the surrounding streets, you'll be able to find boxes full of a variety of different apples for you to choose from.
From pre-packaged bags of apples to jugs of cider, all your fall apple needs can be met at this amazing festival.
Let's also not forget that you'll be able to find tables full of freshly-made apple pies. Yum!
Throughout the duration of the weekend, you can expect to find lots of different food trucks and vendors set up around town with local favorites like the Silo Food Truck, Macarollin’, Ithaca Coffee Company, Gateway Kitchen BBQ, and many others.
Plenty of beer and wine tastings from our local vineyards and breweries will pair up wonderfully with all your apple treats.
To those who are attending the festival with the entire family, you can head inside the Tompkins Trust Company Family Fun Zone at Center Ithaca to find the family-friendly area of the festival with entertainment and games.
This year the festival will even feature a Cider Trail, where people can grab a passport from the Info Booth and enjoy ciders by the glass, tastings, pairings, and mixed cider cocktails inside the downtown shops!
