When a restaurant has reached a centenarian status, it’s worth a road trip from any corner of the state. One of the oldest restaurants in New Mexico is El Farol, a favorite eatery in Sante Fe that’s known for tasty tapas, an incredible cocktail menu, and live performances that make dining here a memorable experience.
Located on historic Canyon Road in Sante Fe, El Farol has been in business for more than 100 years.
El Farol translates to “warmth” and “light” and that’s exactly the atmosphere you’ll step into when you dine at this iconic restaurant in New Mexico.
The outdoor patio is a wonderful spot to enjoy your meal if the weather is cooperating, but if you’re visiting on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evening, you’ll want to sit inside so you can watch the world-renowned Flamenco performance.
This special dinner-and-a-show experience includes a three-course meal prior to the show, which you can reserve ahead of time by visiting the website. These shows have limited seating and sell out fast, so be sure to make your reservations ahead of time.
The dinner menu features a wide range of small plates for sharing as well as larger plates of Spanish specialties.
From tacos to paella, there's something for every palette.
The pizzas are surprisingly delicious, too.
The 12-inch pies are baked in a wood-fired oven, and they even make the dough in-house! We know that the crust can make or break a pizza, and here at El Farol, you can choose between a crispy thin crust or a chewy, sourdough crust.
Check out the website to learn more, and don't forget to give them a follow on Facebook so you never miss out on any specialty dishes or upcoming events.
