These days, you can get ice cream just about anywhere. But if it’s an old fashioned ice cream parlor you’re after, the options are a bit limited. However, they do exist and you can find one in Grenada, MS. Take a look:
This is Spencer’s. It’s located just off the highway on Sunset Drive in Grenada.
A Grenada staple, the eatery has been in business for decades, and it's been a customer favorite for nearly just as long.
Reminiscent of diners and malt shops from years ago, a visit to Spencer’s is like taking a step back in time.
The charming retro appeal is undeniable, especially inside, where you’ll find checkered floors, nostalgic photos, and other vintage décor.
Don’t be surprised if you find a crowd (it’s a longtime customer favorite, remember?) Don’t be deterred, either. The only thing customers rave about more than the food and atmosphere is the super fast, friendly service.
Speaking of the food, the menu is pretty extensive, so if you’re a first-timer, you’ll probably want to spend a few minutes taking it all in.
The shakes, which are among the eatery’s top sellers, are a must-try. And with over 24 flavors, there’s sure to be something that piques your interest (or taste buds).
Not in the mood for a shake? No problem. The menu includes plenty of other sweet treats – from sundaes to slushes.
Maybe you’re one of those people who prefer to eat a meal BEFORE your dessert. And if so, you’re in luck – Spencer’s serves up a variety of fast food eats, including mouthwatering burgers.
The old fashioned burger is sure to hit the spot – and just so happens to go great with a shake.
Just like the malt shops of yesteryear, Spencer’s has a walk-up window, so you can place to-go orders quickly and easily.
Have kids in tow? Let them have some fun at the on-site playground while waiting for your food. And don’t forget to take a picture with the polar bear!
