If you’re looking for a groovy dining spot, it doesn’t get much better than The Prickly Hippie. The name alone is enough to catch the attention of passers-by. And those who enter won’t be disappointed. Basically a cafe and florist all in one, it’s totally far out. Take a look:
The Prickly Hippie is located in the Trace Station shopping center at Highway 51 North and Jackson Street in Ridgeland.
It opened in the summer of 2017 and is already a big hit – and for good reason. Fittingly unconventional, The Prickly Hippie is a combination coffee shop, bakery, and flower shop.
The brain child of Jenni Sivils, the shop carries a variety of cacti and succulents.
Even better, they’re planted in up-cycled and vintage containers, making each and every one completely unique.
In addition to one-of-a-kind containers and beautiful flower arrangements, the shop sells ethically sourced, handmade gifts, such as candles, soaps and handbags.
Much more than a great place to shop, The Prickly Hippie is the perfect spot to grab a quick bite.
A full service bakery, The Prickly Hippie sells all sorts of baked goods, like donuts, cupcakes, cookies...
...and even freshly made bagels.
One of the most popular items is the homemade pop tarts, which are available in a variety of flavors, like plum and peach mango passion fruit.
The homemade goodness doesn’t end with sweet treats, though. Homemade hot pockets are available during lunch Thursday through Saturday.
To complete the hippie experience, customers can enjoy their food in a cozy bohemian-esque seating area.
The Prickly Hippie is located at 500 US-51 Suite F, Ridgeland, MS 39157. It’s open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. For more information, call (601) 910-6730. You can also visit the shop’s website or Facebook page.
This isn’t the only hippie spot in the state. Read about another here.
