In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, you don’t have to go far to find a giant thing. From our biggest twine ball to our many towering walleye statues, Minnesota doesn’t shy away from its bigger-is-better mentality. That even goes for our favorite foods, which is why it should come as no surprise that one Minnesota restaurant is home to a giant, pizza-sized pretzel. Check it out:
Gluek's Restaurant & Bar is an historic spot that has been around since 1934. In fact, it's the oldest restaurant in downtown Minneapolis! Find it at 16 N 6th St., Minneapolis, MN 55403.
It's a popular spot for those visiting the city for sporting events and concerts. In the summertime, the patio is a great spot for people watching.
Inside, the restaurant's history is on full display. Find quiet corner or sidle up to the bar. Either way, you'll have a good time checking out all the trinkets that line the walls.
As for the food, it is simply outstanding. There are plenty of favorites up for grabs, like the walleye sandwich, pot roast, and even beef stroganoff.
If you're not up for a whole meal, Gluek's has you covered. Appetizer options like the sausage sampler or fried pickles will fill you up before you head off to your event.
One of the most popular options? The gigantic pretzel, about as big as a small pizza.
It can serve several, but this buttery, doughy, salty treat will go fast!
It's served with honey mustard and beer cheese soup. The combination of flavors is simply delicious.
And don't forget to wash it down with a pit of beer! There are many options, including several Gluek beers.
