Minnesota isn't exactly known for its Mexican food. And if there are notable restaurants, many expect them to be in the Twin Cities, where it's easier to find different types of cuisine. But there's one town in Minnesota that has quite a few Mexican restaurants to choose from. Check it out:
Austin is a town of about 20,000 people located 100 miles south of Minneapolis.
Their downtown area is full of local shops that make it a nice place to visit while you're passing through.
There are also many lovely scenic spots in the area. The Jay C. Hormel Nature Center is peaceful, and there are several trails through the area.
As for food, Austin's main claim to fame is Spam. There is even a Spam museum that offers an interesting history of the product.
But the town is home to several tasty Mexican restaurants. One, Tienda Y Taqueria Guerrero, is within walking distance to the Spam Museum.
Many many particularly love the restaurant's carne asada tacos.
Next up is Maya Taqueria, another cozy restaurant known for its tasty tacos.
The tacos are outstanding, but their menu is full of great flavors - and prices.
Our third great Austin Mexican restaurant is El Mariachi. It is a family-owned restaurant in downtown Austin that is sure to impress.
From delightful tacos to fulling enchiladas, you really can't go wrong here.
Finally, we have El Patron Mexican Grill & Bar. This spot is known for its good prices and fast service.
And because it's also a bar, you can enjoy a nice margarita with your tacos, enchiladas, or fajitas.
