1. Anodyne Coffee Roasting Company
If you want coffee that is pure art, Anodyne is your best bet. They put all of themselves into their roasting to bring you the best cup of coffee possible, and their baristas go through ongoing training to be up to date with the best ways to make your drink. Though it's not the biggest chain, it’s slowly moving up in the ranks.
Anodyne has three locations now: Bay View, Fifth Ward, and its newest addition, Wauwatosa. Their Fifth Ward location has a stage that houses cool musicians, and you can even book your wedding at this beautiful cafe. The Bay View location offers pizza along your handcrafted drinks. You'll never be disappointed here.
2. Rochambo Coffee and Teahouse
Rochambo is a Brady Street gem. You can't miss this colorful cafe that is located in what looks like a house exploding with funky colors. They serve organic and fair trade coffee and tea, and have plenty original drink options. This cafe is truly one of the friendliest places to be—you'll always feel right at home here.
3. Stone Creek Coffee
Self-proclaimed as "coffee geeks," these guys regularly hold classes to teach the community all the different ways of brewing. Stone Creek prides itself in bringing you great coffee from farm to cup. They have over ten locations throughout Milwaukee, and are branching out to Madison and Chicago.
4. Colectivo Coffee
Formerly known as Alterra, this chain is the most well-known in the Milwaukee coffee scene. With 16 cafes throughout Milwaukee and Madison, and now one in Chicago, this coffee roaster is rapidly growing while still bringing quality coffee. Don’t miss out on their breakfast, which they serve all day.
5. Valentine Coffee Roasters
This roaster has been growing in popularity just within the past few years. The co-owners of the coffee company bonded over their love of all things that taste good. They're so committed to bringing you a great cup of joe that, in the beginning, they roasted coffee every day, took notes, and changed tiny little things until they get it just right. Valentine makes a great cup of coffee.

6. Kickapoo Coffee
One of Milwaukee's newest roaster is making a name for itself! Kickapoo is focused on selling truly organic coffee and their environmental efforts are a big part of what they do. In 2015 they became the country's first solar-powered roastery and strive to become even more eco-friendly.
They have two locations, Historic Third Ward Cafe (232 E. Erie Street, Milwaukee) and Main Street in Viroqua (302 S. Main Street, Viroqua, WI)
7. Alderaan Coffee
With a great location and house-made flavors, Alderaan is quite the treat. Though they source their coffee from other roasters, they make all of their own flavor syrups. Make sure to try the Lavender Latte!

8. Hawthorne Coffee Roasters
This family-owned roaster is blowing up in Milwaukee. You can find their coffee all over, including popular spots like Holy Moley Donuts. They have one shop on the south side, and they even have Milwaukee’s first coffee truck!

9. Brewed Cafe
Located in the heart of Milwaukee on Brady Street, this is a great place to grab a bite to eat and a cup of Anodyne coffee. This comfortable cafe offers great vegan and vegetarian options.

10. Dryhootch Coffeehouse
Dryhootch isn't only a coffee shop, it's also a non-profit organization serving Milwaukee veterans. Their name and their mission go hand-in-hand. The term "hootch" is a word often used in the military to mean "a safe place to sleep during combat. "Dry" symbolizes their mission to offer a gathering place for veterans that is free of alcohol, since this has been a major problem over the years. They have six different coffees, one for each branch of the military. This coffeehouse isn’t only selling great coffee, but it's also doing amazing things for the community.
They have two locations in Milwaukee: 1030 E. Brady Street, 4801 W. National Avenue, and a few other locations throughout the Midwest.
11. Bella Caffé
This local cafe is a cute little coffee shop located in the Historic Third Ward. This is a great place for quaint desserts and delicious coffee, all the while supporting small independent businesses.
