Remember that bologna sandwich from your childhood? Well, this bologna sandwich is nothing like that. Today we are headed down to the Big Easy to take a closer look at a little restaurant that’s taking your childhood food favorites and turning them on their head. They’ve got one of the best fried bologna sandwiches in Louisiana, and you’ll fall in love after just one bite.
Turkey & The Wolf was opened in 2016 by Mason Hereford and Lauren Holton.
This quirky and colorful counter-serve eatery has been a favorite for those in the Lower Garden District, and you’ll understand why from the moment you walk in.
Tiny but mighty, this playful restaurant fills up quickly during peak hours, so you may want to get there early.
There are also a few tables outside for those that would like to dine outdoors.
At Turkey & The Wolf, you can expect a menu full of unique and flavorful sandwiches that will blow your taste buds away.
With both vegetarian and vegan options, there’s certainly something for everyone on the menu.
There are also several "not sandwiches" that are guaranteed to fill you up.
Even their salads are filled with inventive ingredients (and they're also as big as your head!)
But their claim to fame is the fried bologna sandwich.
This bad boy takes your childhood lunch staple and brings it to a whole new level with Leighann’s bologna, hot English mustard, shredded lettuce, mayo, American cheese, and a heaping handful of crispy potato chips. Yum!
Turkey & The Wolf is open from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday-Saturday.
They're also open from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Sundays, or until they sell out.
Address: 739 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA, 70130
