Some eateries look pretty magnificent from the outside, but we have plenty of hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Georgia that don't look like much at all from the street. From looking at these unassuming spots, you'd never guess what sort of deliciousness is hiding inside. One of our favorites is Clocked! An American Diner in Athens. This little diner is practically a literal hole in the wall, with only a few tables inside and most of the seating outdoors. But on the menu, you'll find some incredible burgers, sandwiches, and hot dogs. Check it out:
Clocked is easy to miss - it's tucked beside a larger restaurant and just a few doors down from the historic 40 Watt Club music venue. As a boisterous college town, there's plenty to see and do in Athens, so it's not surprising that such a small restaurant could fall through the cracks.
There are just a few tables inside, with the majority of the seating outdoors.
Clocked specializes in burgers, sandwiches, and fries. Everything here is made fresh to order using organic local ingredients.
The burgers are among the best in Georgia, and any of the beef patties can be substituted with vegan options.
The fries are so good they could be the main course, especially if you opt for the cheddary goodness of cheese fries or the garlic Parmesan fries.
Who doesn't love a good sweet treat to end the meal? Clocked has perfect milkshakes in a variety of flavors that make for an excellent dessert.
