Tomato soup is a popular comfort food. It's on the menu at many Georgia diners and makes lots of appearances at restaurants at any price point. If you're looking for the best tomato soup in Georgia, though, there's only one place to go: Little Duck Diner in Savannah. This vintage-style diner is oh-so-chic and offers up a variety of ooey-gooey grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, and breakfast foods. Whatever you do, though, make sure you get a side of the tomato soup — it's divine!
Little Duck Diner is located in downtown Savannah, right in the heart of the city's historic district and not far from the Savannah College of Art and Design campus.
The diner opened in 2017 but feels older - the retro stylings and mirrored walls will make you feel like you stepped into a 1940s noir film.
You'll find a superb breakfast and brunch here. The menu is full of classic breakfast dishes like waffles, eggs, biscuits, and French toast.
The menu gets far more creative than that, though. There are plenty of more exotic offerings like bowls and tacos, too.
Everything here is delicious, but if you want the real stars of the show, it's the grilled cheese sandwiches paired with the summer Thai tomato soup.
The dishes go together like peanut butter and jelly. Little Duck Diner serves up gourmet grilled cheeses with toppings like avocado, pesto, and caramelized onions.
The soup is great on its own - topped with goat cheese and croutons, it's the perfect mix of comforting and novel. But pair it with a grilled cheese sandwich and it's heaven.
