However, this popular spot has a spooky secret.
Established in 1830, The Delaware City Hotel was a popular tavern that hosted all sorts of people. Many soldiers stationed at nearby Fort Delaware would spend their off hours drinking in this spot. To this day, it's suspected that many of these former, rowdy soldiers haunt the grounds of their favorite tavern.Loud, unexplained noises can often be heard coming from all areas of the old building. Doors open and shut on their own, and orbs appear in photos that guests have taken.
