If there's one food that Connecticut is known for, it's lobster rolls. It is thought that this delicious dish was invented in Milford, CT over 100 years ago at the now-defunct Perry's Restaurant. You may not be able to visit Perry's and grab an original lobster roll nowadays, but there are plenty of options for delicious Connecticut-style lobster rolls out there. One of our favorite spots to grab a roll is BRYAC - the best spot for lobster rolls in Black Rock, CT. This lively spot is so much fun and has a phenomenal menu filled with great seafood.
Lobster rolls are a hot topic of debate here in New England. Some like them Maine-style, cold with mayo. However, many in the Nutmeg State know that the best way to serve them up is Connecticut style: hot and buttered.
Here at BRYAC, you can enjoy lobster rolls, plus a lot more! There's plenty of scrumptious seafood options on the menu.
The atmosphere is quite relaxed, and there's seating both indoors and out.
Live music is regularly scheduled, which only adds to the fun.
Connecticut may not have a close association with crab cakes like Maryland does, but that doesn't mean you can't find great ones here. The ones at BRYAC are served up with a zesty roasted pepper aioli that's oh-so-delicious.
You also can't go wrong with a side of soup: BRYAC's lobster bisque and clam chowder have both won local awards.
But definitely don't leave without making sure you try one of the lobster rolls!
