1. Deep South Taco (291 Ellicott St.)
Deep South offers great tacos, guacamole, and margaritas, but what's truly spectacular is the experience of visiting in the summer. They've got a killer patio, which means there's the possibility of turning your day into a fiesta every time you visit!
2. Root + Bloom Cafe & Market (423 Elmwood Ave.)
Buffalo's first all plant-based eatery features a unique open-air cafe. It offers a place of refuge in the city whether it's raining or sunny! They serve a delicious and beautiful dinner and brunch, and in the fall they'll be opening an indoor space as well.
3. Mooney's Sports Bar & Restaurant (Various Locations)
There are multiple locations for Mooney's and many of them are not far from the Queen City. Sure, it's a sports bar, but it's so much more than just a place to watch the Bills. What you really want to do here is eat your weight in mac and cheese! They have 17 different varieties of the cheesy dish, ranging from fun ones for kids to more gourmet flavors for grown-ups. Visit them at 1531 Military Rd. in Buffalo or check out their website for other nearby locations.
4. Allen Street Poutine Company (242 Allen St.)
With "poutine" in the name, you probably already know what the specialty is here. But, did you know that their drinks are fun and unique as well? This is the Mimosa Sorbet Freakshake. It's a mimosa sorbet shake topped with frosting, orange sugar crystals, whipped cream, hot fudge, orange, and strawberry. If it's warm outside, enjoy the poutine patio.
5. Liberty Hound (1 Naval Park Cove)
This outdoor dining experience is one you can't miss during the summertime. While eating outside in Buffalo is a unique experience in and of itself, you'll also experience some history here. The spot is surrounded by surrounded by two WWII-era Navy ships!
6. Swan Street Diner (700 Swan St.)
The Swan Street Diner car was originally located in Newark, NY and was called the Newark Diner. It arrived in Buffalo in 1937 in need of assembly, which was done on-site. Today, visiting the diner means enjoying a hearty meal with a modern flair. Come by for breakfast to enjoy the classic House Hash, which comes with corned beef, eggs, and toast.
7. Hydraulic Hearth (716 Swan St.)
Hydraulic Hearth offers one of the best ways to enjoy sunny summer days in Nickel City. Sit outside on the patio to enjoy a beer, lawn games, a fire pit, and shuffleboard. Head inside to check out the tiny gallery located in the restaurant's famous phone booth! The (716) GAL-LERY is the city's smallest art gallery and displays rotating art inside a 1950s-era phone booth.
8. Scallywags Grub and Sprits (6558 Old Lake Shore, Derby)
Located about 17 miles south of Buffalo, this pirate-themed restaurant is like nothing you've experienced before. There's nautical decor on all the walls and even a shark head mounted above the bar. You'll definitely want to try Scallywags' famous wings, which come with a choice of 20 different sauces.
9. Chez Ami Restaurant at the Curtiss Hotel (210 Franklin St.)
While "wacky" might mean totally eccentric and off-the-wall to some, to others it might mean a rotating roof bar. For those people, we offer you the Chez Ami Restaurant in the Curtiss Hotel. Buffalo's only revolving lounge will transport you to a swanky city where people spend their days in high heels and their nights in... we can't even imagine. Check out this place to enjoy a unique cocktail while gazing out over the city. And don't worry, the bar moves so slowly you may not even notice it until you realize you're facing the opposite direction!
