Wide-open desert roads are among our favorite things about Arizona, but it can be difficult to find food in the middle of nowhere. Next time you find yourself out near Lee's Ferry in Marble Canyon, don't forget to stop by Cliff Dwellers Restaurant to stretch your legs, fill up on gas, and grab a bite to eat. Hidden away at the mouth of the Grand Canyon, this rustic eatery offers some of the best food and views in the state - and you can even spend the night in the motel next door!
Nestled at the base of the Grand Canyon, Cliff Dwellers Restaurant takes the phrase "dinner with a view" to a whole new level.
You'll find the hidden gem of an eatery on US 89A in Marble Canyon, about 15 miles southwest of Lee's Ferry.
Indoor seating is available, but you'll want nothing to do with it after stepping out onto the patio.
You can see for miles in all directions, getting a sense of just how remote the restaurant truly is.
As for the menu, it's big enough even for the most voracious of appetites.
If you're looking for something a little lighter, there are several fresh salads to choose from, as well as appetizers including seared Ahi tuna, skillet nachos, onion rings, and a few other scrumptious selections.
For a heartier meal, build your own burger, piled high with add-ons like grilled onions, cheese, bacon, avocado, and hot peppers.
Only the finest Certified Angus Beef is used, and each patty weighs half a pound. Veggie burgers and chicken sandwiches are also offered in the same build-your-own format.
Other crowd favorite entrees include steak, baby back ribs, tacos, and a beaucoup of other made-to-order dishes.
It's all so good, you'll have to fight the urge to order one of everything!
Passing through town early in the morning? Stop by Cliff Dwellers for a stick-to-your-ribs breakfast that'll keep you fueled up for the rest of your drive.
From eggs benedict to omelets to biscuits and gravy, there's something to please every palate.
Whatever you do, make sure to save at least a smidge of room for dessert.
The famous Avocado Pie is a must-try (it may not sound too appetizing, but trust us - people come from all over Arizona for it).
If you're too full to go home, just spend the night at the Cliff Dwellers Lodge next door.
A rustic, mid-century motel, the lodge affords guests a comfortable stay in the most beautiful surroundings.
Address: 1408 US Highway 89A, Marble Canyon, AZ 86036.
Hours are 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.
