If There’s Any Time To Visit This One-Of-A-Kind Florida Flower Farm, This Summer Is It

For some Floridians, summertime means spending every free moment exploring the state’s gorgeous beaches. However, others try to find pockets of the weird, the obscure, and the downright wonderful during their summer break. We have a flower farm that has become the ultimate destination for the whole family, with beauty flourishing at every corner.

Have you ever wanted to get lost in a gargantuan maze of towering, rich yellow sunflowers? Well, this is your chance.

At Sledds’s U-Pick Strawberry Field in Mims, Florida there is an expanse of sunflowers that ranges up to four acres in size and is completely outfitted as a maze for guests.

Imagine spending the afternoon wandering through the sweet smelling sunflowers, the sun illuminating each and every petal.

There are just a few designated rules to enjoy this flower farm in Florida, but otherwise guests are free to roam about and enjoy the fields of flowers.

Sledds’s U-Pick Farm began as a strawberry farm, and still to this day, from February through April guests can visit to pursue the strawberry fields.

However, as of the past few years, the big draw for many visitors is the vast fields of sunflowers that collectively become a sight to see when each flower reaches its towering potential.

Completing lighting up the farm, this sunflower field maze generally takes visitors about 45 minutes to a few hours to wander through to the very end.

Depending on the time of year and how the flowers are blooming, the time in which the sunflower maze is open varies.

But as long as you follow along with Sledd’s U-Pick Farms on Facebook, you’ll know exactly when this beauty opens up to guests.

Sledd’s U-Pick Farm is open Wednesday and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hours may vary so it is important to follow along with Sleds’s on their Facebook Page for more information. Keep an eye out too, for when the sunflower field is officially in full bloom every year for guests to visit. Sunflowers tend to not last long, so make sure to be ready!
