The Crazy One-Of-A-Kind Store You’ll Only Find In Florida
What could be more Floridian than fresh citrus and Key lime pie? Sure, it might be on the touristy side, but there’s a reason Bob Roth’s New River Groves has been a landmark in Davie for over 50 years.
A classic Florida roadside attraction, the bright orange and green building on Griffin Road in Davie will definitely catch your eye.
The Roths started packing and shipping citrus here in 1964, and the shop has remained a popular stop for both tourists and natives looking for special treats and gifts.
New River Groves is just as famous for its Key lime pie as it is for its fruit.
They started making the award-winning pies in the '70s and now sell all kinds of homemade pies, from chocolate mousse to banana cream. They also have traditional holiday pies and unique specialty pies like mango Key lime and pumpkin Key lime, which are only available at certain times of the year.
If you're looking for your favorite toast-toppers, look no further. The Grove has a dizzying array of jellies, jams, marmalades and honey.
There are plenty of unique finds, too, like alligator meat, hot sauces, gourmet pickles, taffy, and coconut patties.
Oh yeah, and did we mention incredible homemade fudge? Here, you'll find dozens of varieties offered throughout the year, including the ever-popular Key lime.
They sell some of the prettiest (and tastiest) gift baskets, too, for perfect for every occasion.
There's also an on-site smoothie/juice bar and a coffee house/sandwich stand.
Grab a fresh steak wrap or Cuban sandwich and sip Coco Frio (coconut water) straight from the coconut. What a perfect lunch.
The orange groves may be getting harder to find, but Bob Roth's New River Groves is still open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day. Come down and enjoy some delicious food, with a side of Florida history.
