The Bob Graham Sunshine Skyway Bridge is a magnificent bridge connecting St. Petersburg to the unincorporated community of Terra Ceia. The Sunshine Skyway Bridge is the tallest, most magical bridge in the state of Florida, and some might even say one of the coolest bridges in the world.

In fact, this wonderful bridge is also one of the world’s longest cable-stayed concrete bridges, clocking in at over 4.14 miles in length.

With a height of 430-feet, this bridge built over Tampa Bay connects the unincorporated community of Terra Ceia to St. Petersburg.

The whole bridge is almost entirely composed of concrete and steel, and the yellow cables can be seen from quite far away.

The bridge, however, holds a bit of a tragic history as a freighter collided with a support column in 1980 during a thunderstorm, causing the bridge to collapse.

But the bridge was rebuilt with time and care, making it one of the most beautiful bridges in the world.

The grade of this bridge is uniquely steep and the parallel lines of the bright yellow cables add to the majesty of the entire structure.

But you have to really cross over this bridge in order to understand what an engineering feat has been created over Tampa Bay.
