Talking trash about Florida seems to be a favorite past time of some of our neighbors. Here’s why they need to put down the Haterade and find out what they’re missing.

1. We all live in Miami.

It seems like a lot of people can't think of any other city in Florida. Florida's huge, and we can't all fit in Miami, guys.
2. We all love Walt Disney World.

There are die-hard Disney fans here for sure, but not everyone likes the pricey tickets or long lines. Plus when you've been as many times as most of us have, it can lose some of its magic.
3. We're all retired.

We realize we're a popular retirement spot, but we're also the third most populous state in the nation. We have residents of all ages!
4. We tend toward the tacky.

Some people may think we're over the top or tacky (maybe this springs from our tourist state routes), but it's actually more like delightfully kitschy.
5. We're not really "Southern."

Whatever, y'all. In Florida culture changes vastly depending on where you go. We're a lot of different things at any given time, and we like it that way.
6. We all live on the beach.

Wrong. It's illegal to live on the beach, or this would probably be true.
7. We dress like dorks.

We're pretty sure it's mostly tourists that cause this stereotype, but it is true it's hard to dress to the nines when it's this hot.
