The man playing the piano is Donald Gould, an ex-Marine who fell on hard times when his wife died unexpectedly in 1998. He became addicted to drugs, lost custody of his young son and spent years living on the streets. Since this video went viral, he has entered rehab and been reunited with his son, who is now 18. He’s hopeful that he will be able to land a job playing in a local restaurant.
