The Rainforest Park In Florida That Will Take You On An Adventure Of A Lifetime
If we told you that in Florida you had a chance to be surrounded by monkeys in the only semi-natural tropical rainforest in North America, you probably would think we were out of our darn minds. However, for those of you who have been to South Florida and visited the famed Monkey Jungle, you know exactly what we mean.
Monkey Jungle is a 30-acre wildlife park in Miami, Florida established back in the 1930s.
What began as a way to study endangered monkeys in a semi-natural habitat by animal behaviorist Joseph DuMond soon became a chance for locals to observe, too.
This one-of-a-kind subtropical rainforest allows students, visitors, and scientists get up close and personal with some of the most amazing creatures on earth.
In Monkey Jungle, it is generally not the animals that are in the enclosures, but instead, the people!
Humans are the ones walking inside the enclosures while the monkeys are fit to roam around, climbing on top of the structures to bring up bowls of treats.
Getting an up-close-and-personal look at these beautiful animals is surely an experience to remember.
It’s easy to spend the entire day wandering around Monkey Jungle from the Wild Monkey Swimming Pool to the Cameroon Gorilla Forest.
You can even take the Rainforest Adventure Tour, which allows visitors to become immersed in a 5-acre natural habitat filled with monkeys.
Depending on the season you visit, you may even be lucky enough to catch a few newborns scattered throughout Monkey Jungle.
It’s hard to have a bad day at Monkey Jungle, especially when you get to see little faces like this one.
Explore Monkey Jungle with the whole family, the only place in Florida where the humans are caged and the monkeys run wild!
