Florida Caverns State Park is also beloved for its well-kept campsites.

After years of development through the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and the Works Projects Administration (including a nine-hole golf course), the park finally opened in 1942.

Guests can take guided cave tours Thursday through Monday only. The tours last 45 minutes and as far as difficulty, they can be moderately strenuous.

Another huge bonus is this park’s proximity to Falling Waters State Park in Chipley, where you’ll find Florida’s tallest waterfall. With a little planning, these two can easily be combined one amazing trip.
