Scarpetta is led by James Beard award recipient and celebrity chef Scott Conant, and serves up regional Italian fare with….wait for it…unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean.
If that wasn’t enough, this restaurant also happens to have one of the best plates of pasta you can have in the United States, and it is oh-so-simple in style.
The Tomato & Basil Spaghetti at Scarpetta uses Conant’s tomato sauce recipe, which let's just say this recipe is likely one of the best things you’ll eat all year.
The secret to the sauce is peeling and seeding tomatoes that are absolutely, no-questions-about-it ripe, then slow cooking them in olive oil, garlic, crushed red pepper, and basil.
