You might think Floridians are too busy having fun in the sun to think much about others, but Florida is actually ranked 18th of all the states when it comes to charitable donations, according to Philanthropy.com. The data given was for 2012 and broken down by metropolitan statistical areas. It says Floridians gave 3.38% of their adjusted gross incomes to charity, which translates to $11,144,250,000. But which cities in Florida gave the most?
With a giving ratio of 3.68% of their adjusted gross incomes, and a total contribution of $73,412,000, these cities made the number 10 spot on our list. Great job guys!
The Pensacola metropolitan area donated a total of $188,497,000, which was 3.74% of its total adjusted gross income. The Emerald Coast sure is gave a lot of green.

Gainesville gave 3.79%, for a total of $115,990,000. Who knew college students could be so generous?

Ocala gave $120,494,000, which was equal to 3.82% of its adjusted gross income. Great job, Ocala!
