If you’ve ever been so stressed out by modern life that you wanted to go back to a simpler time or way of life, there’s a beautiful park in Florida that you should visit. The Dudley Farm (Dudley Farm Historic State Park) is a 325-acre working farm in Newberry. The historic homestead has 18 restored farm buildings, dating from the 1850s through the 1940s. The old farm life is recreated by volunteers in period clothes, and the buildings include a post office, general store, a working cane syrup complex, and the family farmhouse.

The Dudley Farm is open Wednesday through Sunday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and the Farmstead is open Wednesday through Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The farm hosts a variety of events and educational programs throughout the year. Guided tours are given at 10 a.m. in October through May, but you can always enjoy a self-guided tour. They even have tour information you can listen to on your cell phone. Check out the visitor center for more information. Admission is only $5 per carload.
