Florida has many National Historic Landmarks that have played significant roles in the state’s history. Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales has been open since 1929 and is filled with over 250 acres of beautiful natural grounds. The focal point of the gardens is the singing tower, a 200-foot tall carillon with 60 bells. In Key West, the Ernest Hemingway House was where the author lived from 1931-1939, and it’s across the street from the Key West Lighthouse. It is now a private museum and a National Historic Landmark.
