We all know the mantra, “You are what you eat,” but this week that old adage got new meaning after a Florida man captured something truly astonishing while out for a morning walk at Circle B Bar Reserve on Wednesday:

Alex Figueroa, who uploaded the footage to YouTube, estimates the beast was between 11 and 12 feet long. “It’s typical alligator behavior,” a fish and wildlife expert told Fox 13 in Tampa. “They are cannibalistic at times.”

This definitely gives me the willies, and I wouldn’t have wanted to be so close to a feeding gator. What would you have done if you stumbled across this scene on your morning walk?
