Most people don’t think of rock formations when they think of Florida. However, if they knew about Florida Caverns State Park in the Florida Panhandle near Marianna, Florida, rock formations would certainly be near the top of their list. Florida Caverns State Park is an underground cave system that is filled with stalagmites, stalactites, and flowstones that are absolutely incredible.

These caves are simply incredible. While there are many activities at Florida Caverns State Park including bicycling, boating, camping, and geo-seeking, we highly recommend going on a cave tour to see these natural wonders.

These caves were opened to the public in the 1930's after the Civilian Conservation Corps conducted work to make the caves tall enough to stand up in. This work allowed cave tours to begin to share this wonder with the public.

Cave tours are offered Thursday through Monday from 9:00am to 4:00pm, but you are recommended to get their early as tickets can sell out.
