Who doesn’t love cheese? It’s in all of our favorite recipes, from mac & cheese to lasagna. Lately, there has been greater interest in shopping local and farm-to-table cuisine. Well, cheese fans can rejoice because Florida has its very own creamery where you can get the freshest cheeses imaginable.
Cypress Point Creamery is located in Hawthorne in North Central Florida. The owners, John and Nancy Mims, have been running a dairy since the 1970s, but they began making artisanal cheeses in 2010.
The Mims consider the cows in their all-Jersey dairy part of the family. These “little brown cows” are known for their good-natured charm.
Cypress Point Creamery sells several different types of cheese, including Havarti, Gouda, Tomme, Feta, and Baby Swiss styles. They also sell delicious cream-top milk.
