There’s A Little Slice Of Paradise Hiding Right Here In Wisconsin… And You’ll Want To Visit
It's summer, and if you're anything like me, you're yearning to get to a beautiful place. But not all of us have the time and the money to head out to what we think of as "paradise." Wisconsin, however, is full of beautiful places that you probably have never seen. Today we are going to profile one of these places.
1. Lake Pepin is actually the widest part of the Mississippi River.
2. It stretches from Wisconsin to Minnesota.
3. You can get out on the water with your kayak or canoe.
4. There are loads of places to camp.
5. This lake is 22 miles long.
6. In winter, there are ice roads that cross the lake.
7. Lookouts give you an incredible view of the Mississippi River.
8. It was also the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of "Little House on the Prairie."
9. There are bakeries and bistros along the scenic drive.
10. One visit, and you'll see why this has been called one of the prettiest spots in America.
