The History Museum At The Castle In Wisconsin Houses Quirky Exhibits And A Few Secrets

The History Museum at the Castle offers interactive exhibits, including a popular Harry Houdini exhibit, in a historic building resembling a medieval castle.

Whether or not you’re a fan of museums, you’ve got to pay a visit to the History Museum at the Castle. Not your typical museum, this one features a ton of local history, including a Houdini exhibit that’s been visited by more than 150,000 people! But that's not all there is to love. There’s also an array of national exhibits. Oh, and did we mention the museum is housed in a huge building that looks like a castle? Take a look:

The History Museum at the Castle is most known for its interactive Harry Houdini exhibit. But that’s not all you’ll find within its walls.

And while we’re on the subject of walls, it seems like a good time to bring up the building’s history. The structure, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in 1923 and has lots of features reminiscent of medieval castles.

Inside, you’ll find loads of exhibits covering a variety of topics along with hands-on experiences that are fun for all ages.

Providing a glimpse into the state’s past, the museum houses a collection of info on Appleton and Fox Valley that dates back to the 1840s.

And there’s, of course, the Harry Houdini exhibit. The most popular exhibit, it attracts 50 percent of the museum’s visitors.

In addition to being interactive, the exhibit reveals the magician’s illusions, making it easy to see why it’s a favorite.

…to the history of the toy industry at the Play: The Golden Age of Toys exhibit.

National exhibits are always coming and going. GUITAR: The Instrument that Rocked the World is currently at the museum and will be there until January 5, 2020.
