Shopping malls have their time and place, but if I'm being totally honest, I don’t spend much time in them. With similar layouts and many of the same stores, they all start to look alike after a while. Flea markets, on the other hand, offer a far less stale experience. Trading drab, cookie-cutter merchandise for unique, hand-made items, flea markets are - in my opinion - the future of shopping, and Cole’s Flea Market in Pearland is easily one of the best flea markets in Texas. It’s spacious, energetic, and even has its own food truck park, so you can stay fueled and focused as you peruse the various stalls.
Cole’s is by far the largest flea market in South Houston, with over 1,000 vendors selling everything from housewares to clothing to seasonal decor. It’s open every weekend year-round (and, thanks to the large indoor shopping area, rain or shine as well). Enjoy a feast for the senses as you stroll up and down the aisles, taking in the sight of eager shoppers bustling to and fro, the sound of excited chatter, and the smell of delicious food from the market’s food truck park.
All of the vendors are extremely friendly, often moving beyond small talk and taking an authentic interest in getting to know their customers. Before you leave a booth, you’ll feel like the seller is an old friend, the cold, transactional interactions at big box stores nothing but distant memories.
If you love food as much as I do, you’ll especially appreciate the fact that Cole’s has its very own food truck park. Chow down on everything from breakfast tacos to burgers to churros - no matter what time of day it is, there’s something delicious being served up.
Biting into a juicy burger loaded up with all of your favorite toppings and a big pile of salted-to-perfection fries is always a good time, but it just hits different after a long day of shopping.
Visit the Cole’s Flea Market website or the Cole’s Flea Market Facebook page for more information, including current hours of operation.
